Firstly it was used for Asandi which means to sit on something. Then according to Shiv Sanhita (Conversation between Shiva and Parvati) lord shiva described 84 Million Asanas as 84 million Yonis according to their sitting positions. It was difficult to perform those many Asanas, so Shiva limited those to 8400.

Then according to Natha tradition, Guru Gorakhnath described 84 Asanas according to their physical, mental and spiritual aspect. Now a days 84 Asanas represents tradition of Hatha Yoga.

According to modern Yogic Science, We classify our postures according to their Anatomy and Physiology which can make right effect on the physical and mental state of human.

The counter pose of the postures, forward & backward bending from the vertebra, twisting equally both sides, stretching up and down in a sequence, altogether with this is the classification of Asana according to their nature. Cultural pose, reflexive pose, meditative pose defined and described according to their values.

No, During the YTT we don't allow drop-in students at all. For us, it doesn’t matter how large or small the group is. We care for and respect all our YTT students.
The taxi provided by Gyanganga Yogpeeth is safe. Gyanganga Yogpeeth is responsible for the service.
Yes, you can either do your laundry yourself, or we can provide paid laundry service.
Yes, all the rooms have attached bathrooms, with hot and cold shower.
Please bring long loose pants and t-shirt (short or long sleeve) in white, maroon or orange color. Also, bring white color socks to use during the practice, and for your safety please bring a good quality padlock to lock your room.

There is a simple rule: leave all unnecessary items at home like cosmetics, sexy dress hair dryer, high heels shoes etc. Pack only the essential things: a minimum of clothing, first aid kit, personal hygiene items, pen and notebook for taking notes during the course. If you are afraid of mosquitoes, please bring a mosquito net, sleeping bags, towels, etc. as here no one provides those items.
We like to limit the group to 21 students only. At Gyanganga Yogpeeth, we have a large Yoga hall but prefer not to have larger groups. We focus on the quality of teaching to produce high-quality Yoga students on an international level.
School Certificate of Patanjali International Yoga Foundation (Gyanganga Yogpeeth) and Yoga Alliance (YA) will be issued at the end of the Yoga Teacher Training course, based on the results of examinations.
Transfer Delhi – Rishikesh – Delhi is carried by taxi service (Tata Indica, Tata Indigo or Toyota Innova). Distance: 250 km. Time till destination: 6-8 hours with one stop for 30 minutes’ rest with the possibility of breakfast, depending on timing. For this, we recommend that you change some money at the airport.

Dehradun jolly grant is the nearest airport which is approx.. 15 km away from our institute.

It is not polite to walk around dressed in open and tight-fitting clothes, to exhibit intimacy between men and women in public, to insult sacred cows and animals.
